- The festival will be climaxed with this year's MOGO festival and awards
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has announced the celebration of this year’s Ghana Music Week Celebration.
This year’s celebration which spans from March 1 to March 7 is in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism Culture and Creative Arts presents the 2016 Ghana Music Week Festival.
In a release to media houses, the statement outlined activities to mark this year’s celebration.
From March 1 to March 7 the Capital, Accra will be alive with the Sound of Music :
From Celebrating Ghana Music Day, the MOGO Festival, Ghana Music Investment Forum, International Music Expo, Ghana Music Honours and the Re-enactment of Ghana's Independence at the Gold@20 meet Ghana Music Week Festival.

On Tuesday March 1, 2016 @10.30am, MUSIGA will be live on some selected media platforms like GH one, Star Fm, Kasapa fm, and CITI fm for the hosting of a live Opening Launch ceremony.
March 2 is a day to celebrate GHANA MUSIC DAY, a day where only Ghanaian Music will fill the media airwaves. On Thursday, March 3 at the British Council Hall @9am, there will be the biggest gathering of artistes, music managers, industry players and investment and Financial management advisors at the GMW Music Investment Forum.
Come Friday, March 4 at 8pm, the GMW Festival will moves to the National Theatre for the International Music Expo and Awards. The ceremony will – feature performances from Wiyaala, Sherifa Gunu, Bessa Simons, Tagoe Sisters, Pat Thomas & more plus International participation from Usa, France, India and China.
On Saturday March 5, MUSIGA will partner CITI FM celebrate its annual Music of Ghanaian Origin at the MOGO Awards Night
This year’s Ghana Music Week Festival is sponsored by the American Embassy, IPMC, British Council, EIB Media Group and the Tourism Development Fund and supported by GIBA and SHOWBIZ AFRICA.
