A meeting involving members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Ayawaso Central Constituency ended in a scary mode after one of the members (known as Anin) pulled out gun and started firing.
So far, details remain sketchy over the reason(s) why the NDC member brought a gun all the way to the meeting ground but women's organizer of the constituency, Theresa Gbekie has revealed the NDC member first aimed at the constituency chairman Ebenezer Arkutu but missed as all ran for their lives.
The meeting which was being held at the residence of a leading member of the party, Dr. Offei Agyeman at Kokomlemle, is said to have ended in a gorry mode after the said gunshots which saw several members run for their lives.
“It looks like they were prepared for whatever before coming to the meeting, because you cannot come to a party meeting with a gun when we are not fighting,” Theresa narrated in an interview with TV3 in Accra.
In the meantime the incidence has been reported at the Nima Police Station as security officers mount searches for the gunman.
