The Inspector General of Police John Kudalor on Monday presented a brand new Toyota Corolla to the ‘hero taxi driver’ whose heroics aided the police to arrest two robbers.
The police administration fulfilled a promise they made to the taxi driver after he bravely knocked down the two robbers who attacked a staff of Koala supermarket in Cantonments.
The car was received by a cousin of the taxi driver at the Police Headquarters in Accra.
The action of the taxi driver was applauded by every Ghanaian and also considered as a brave act.
Two suspected robbers, Abaliku Sannie, 35 and Oko Quaicoo, 30 are currently in police custody undergoing trial.
Prior to the reward from the police, the ‘hero taxi driver received a brand new Chevrolet Optra (Sedan) Saloon from the management of the Koala Supermarket.
The driver has since also been commended by many, including former President J.J. Rawlings and President John Mahama for his heroic act. The president awarded him with a house.
