Hundreds gather to watch 'mystery' ship on shores of Aflao

- A mystery ship thought to be a cargo ship has docked on the shores of Aflao following torrential rains in the Volta Region

- Eyewitnesses, totaling in their numbers say no one was on-board the ship

The coast of Aflao in the Volta Region attracted hundreds of onlookers after an abandoned cargo ship with the inscription 'Barca Lome' got washed ashore on Tuesday by tidal waves.

The tidal waves, aroused by the heavy downpour, washed ashore the 'mystery ship' just 100 metres away from the Aflao beach. So far, facts over the origin of the ship remain unknown let alone the reason(s) for it docking ashore at Aflao.

Meanwhile, residents say officials of the Ghana Navy and the security agencies are yet to visit the site to assess the situation as the phenomena remains the first ever to have happened at the said scene.
