Vice presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says he is not the “smartest economist in Ghana” as several people tend to claim.
Dr Mahamadu Bawumia in an interview with Joy FM has revealed that Ghana was endowed with several other great economists and that he never stands the capacity to take all the praise.
“There are many more economics out there. That’s why people research all the time, the more you research the less you realise you know. You have to keep researching. it’s a learning process that we all do. I will never present myself as being the smartest economist,” he explained.
Dr Bawumia, who also doubles as the former deputy bank of Ghana governor, is well known for his concise assessment of the Ghanaian economy and his critique of government economic policies - activities that has made him stand out as one of the economic-brains ever to have joined a campaign ticket of an opposition party.
