The taxi driver had earlier received two cars for his bravado and for damaging his taxi in the process.

The two suspected robbers attacked and shot a lady in her leg near the American Embassy at Cantonments and tried to escape with her belongings. The taxi driver, who was a witness to the robbery incident, however pursued the two robbers, who were escaping on a motor bike and crashed into their motorbike with his car, injuring the robbers who were later arrested.
