- A rat just the size of a four year old has been found dead in East London
- Experts say the strange rat looks like an African Pouch rat
A giant rat bigger than a cat has been found dead at a block of flats in East London.
The rat, which is said to be 4ft long (just the same size of a four-year-old) was spotted lying dead in a bush next to a children's playground in Amhurst Road in Hackney Downs, East London.
Meanwhile experts are unsure what type of creature the Hackney Rat is as pest control company Rentokil claims it may be a strange creation.

Dr Dougie Clarke of the University of Huddersfield believes that the giant rat may be an African pouch rat.
"From the image it's difficult to see how large it truly is, but to me it looks like an African Pouch rat. These are highly intelligent and extremely large rodents - so big they are often kept on a lead. They are very popular as pets, so this one may have escaped from a back garden nearby," Dr Dougie Clarke revealed.
Meanwhile the strange picture of the rat is reported to have gone viral on Twitter and other social media platforms.
