Hazard asked to be substituted but his pleas were not heard and he continued playing. Hazard said: “[Eden] was feeling the pain early in the game and that’s why he has asked for a substitution. “Instead of giving Eden time to overcome the injury and have a proper rest, they push him to play because they have some important games.
He has no choice. “Which player hasn’t had highs and lows in his career? It’s the first time in his professional career that he’s confronted a difficult period. He’s not a machine, as we know.” Meanwhile Guus Hiddink, has suggested that Hazard snr. might be right.
He told reporters on Friday: “His father made a fair judgement. He is not absent of injury, “I have my concerns about him as well – whether he should play, when he’s not top, top fit, an hour at full intensity or another part of the game. We’re trying to help him.”
Hazard was named the FWA and PFA footballer of the year last season but he has been off colour this season with the winger only showing flashing of his brilliance when Hiddink was appointed.
