- Lukaku scored two goals against Chelsea
- Diego Costa was sent off in the game by the referee for rough play on Gareth Barry
- Romelu Lukaku has scored 25 goals this season
Belgium striker, Romelu Lukaku scored a brilliant individual effort and another to send his former pay masters, Chelsea packing out of the FA cup as Everton defeated Guus Hiddinks men 2-0 at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
His really exciting performance saw Lukaku throw Chelsea out of yet another competition with two good goals as they got kicked out of the UEFA Champions League only days ago.
His efforts which might be making the Stamford fans salivate for a possible come back perhaps sent down the jitters to his opposite colleague, Diego Costa who saw red with six minutes to go after he got himself in a biting incident with Everton’s Gareth Barry. Costa had been booked earlier on a yellow card when the incident with Barry occurred as he appeared to have made contact with the neck of the player.
Lukaku had scored a brilliant 77th-minute solo goal after picking a Ross Barkley pass and dashing past a bemused Chelsea defense to slide under Thibaut Courtois.
He followed it up with another Barkley assist as he sent a right foot shot into the net in the 82 minute.
Barry picked a red card from the referee to be sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a foul on Cesc Fabregas.
For now, Romelu Lukaku has wrecked what was left of his former club's fortune to secure Everton's place in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.
He has scored 25 goals this season and the 22 year-old who is yet to hit his prime, could be telling Chelsea owner Abramovic that they made a big mistake in making him leave.
