Corporal Eric K Amoako and two other people have been busted in a fake currency deal in Kumasi on Saturday.

The police officer who is stationed at Zongo Divisional Police with service number 38865 and the two others were arrested on Saturday around 2pm at the Nana Akwasi Agyeman Area at CPC in Kumasi.
They had attempted tricking a young man, Isaac Adusei when they tried to sell fake money to him.
Corporal Amoako and his gang usually sell the fake currency to unsuspecting victims and turn around to arrest them. They end up extorting money from their victims who easily give up upon realizing the involvement of a police officer.
On the fateful day, an accomplice of the corporal, Abdulai Mohamed, who is also behind bars, tried selling to the complainant, Adusei fake currency valued at Ghc22,500 for Ghc 3,400.
According to the police, just before the victim could accept the deal, Corporal Amoako rushed to the scene and arrested Adusei.
He allegedly took the victim’s cash and phone valued at Ghc12,000 together with the fake money.
Adusei realizing he was being duped of his money, raised an alarm which attracted a crowd to the scene and the police was called in later.
The police who arrested Corporal Amoako and his accomplices, conducted a search on a Toyota Highlander vehicle belonging to the police man with registration number GN 3741-14.

Investigations also revealed the corporal who is stationed at the Zongo police station had not reported to work but indeed was rather involved in the fake currency deal.
Abdulai Mohammed and Kwabena Osei, his accomplices, are all behind bars whilst police investigation continues.
