Vienna City Fire after Thursday's fire

On Thursday night,  fire demolished popular  entertainment center, Vienna City Accra, located at the Kwame Nkruham Circle. The fire, which started around 7:00pm, ravaged the entire plush entertainment center.

The interior of was badly damaged with rubble scattered all around. The roofs of the building also caved in as fire fighters struggled to douse the fire. It is unclear what started the fire, but workers of the facility were said to be preparing the area for the night’s activity when the fire started. The Vienna City Night Club is close to a shell fuel station where a storey-building housing Cal Bank is also situated.

Vienna City Accra to bounce back soon

Meanwhile some workers of Vienna City have began counting their losses after the disaster. The workers, numbering over 20, could not say how secure their jobs were considering the extent of damage caused by the fire.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known, but fire service personnel who arrived at the scene said some combustible materials within the premises of the Vienna City attributed to the quick spread of the fire.

Speaking to Pulse Ghana, Gabriel Nana Kwame Agyare, operations manager of the centre said the business was very thankful there was no loss of life in the incident.

“At the moment everything is in the hands of the police. We are waiting for them to get done with their investigations,” he said.

He added that the fire was a big blow but he assured customers “Vienna City will bounce back bigger and better than before. We thank god no life was lost, there is nothing more important than life.”
