The Ghana Premier League continued this weekend after last week’s break. This weekend’s games – Match day 6 saw lots of interesting results and fine football across all league centers.

But the spotlight for week was at the Accra sports stadium; where Hearts of Oak loss 1-3 to Wa All Stars. The beautiful game was marred when unhappy Hearts fans flood the Ohene Djan stadium pitch with water missiles and other objects in protest to what they (fans) claim was poor officiating of the match.

Accra Hearts of Oak suffered their first loss of the season after going down 3:1 to visiting Wa All Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium

The act was started by the home fans in the first half in protest to the first goal scored by Wa All Stars. The match was therefore halted for about 6 minutes.

Fans of the Accra based club protested the opener and performance of match day referee Ernest Baafi, throwing missiles unto the pitch.

The Police, however brought the situation under control, but had to heavily guard the visiting team out of the stadium after the full time.

Referee Ernest Baafi and his assistants, Eric O. Mensah and Freeman Anwulo. The trio needed the police to shield their exit into the dressing room as bottled and bagged water rained in their path after the match.

The Phobians suffered their first loss of the season today.
