The Electoral Commission (EC) has called on media houses not to declare results that have not been certified during the November 7 general elections.

Georgina Opoku Amankwaa, a Deputy Chair of the EC told Citi News in an interview that in order to avoid a situation where Ghanaians will doubt the authenticity of the final results that will be certified by the commission.

She said such tendencies where a media house having access to some results publishes it ahead of what the EC have, could throw the certified results of the electoral body into disrepute.

This year’s general election comes off on November 7.
