Happier times: Adakabre Frimpong Manso and Nana Addo exchange pleasantries

Mr Frimpong Manso told Accra-based Joy FM in an interview last week, that Nana Addo abused and threatened to kill him.

He said: “Nana Addo abused and threatened me, I was so sad and scared but I kept quiet because I didn’t want to be the fall guy through which something happens and they would say it is because of Adakabre so I kept quiet.

“I was afraid because…I was told to the face that you will be killed at a specific date, I have all the evidence, I can substantiate them…I have everything on my phone, I have kept the phones and I would be willing to show it to anybody who wants to see them.”

In a dramatic turnaround on Wednesday, however, the radio presenter said he lied against Akufo-Addo and expressed regret for his conduct.

Mr Frimpong Manso apologised to the NPP leader, emphasising that he did not mean to portray him as a violent person.

“Nana Addo didn’t personally send a text to Adakabre that he will kill me. And he didn’t verbally say that he will kill me. And secondly, the intention for which I granted that interview was not to portray Nana Addo as a violent person because I don’t like him or that because he’s a bad person," he said.

Mr Frimpong Manso's allegation against Nana Addo came after the NPP blocked its communicators from appearing on his political talk show over allegations that he was biased against the party.
