UK gives Ghana £4 million for November election

The United Kingdom (UK) has  announced a Ghana £4 million package to Ghana to  support the country's  preparations for planned elections in November.

The Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson, Madam Charlotte Osei, met  UK officials on Wednesday to finalise the deal before the money is disbursed.

Meanwhile, the leading political parties are in full campaign mood as the elections inch closer.

President John Mahama has embarked on an 'Accounting to the People' tour of the Western Region.

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has also carried out a demonstration in Kumasi, aimed at compelling the EC to undertake validation of the voters' register before the elections.
