A four-year-old boy was killed on Friday after he was hit by a private car in Koforidua.

Bright Abeku, a pupil of  Sarkodie School, and his friend were knocked down in front of the St James Hotel by a Mitsubishi car while they were on the way to school, according to a report by starrfmonline.com.The vehicle i said to have veered off the road and hit the school children.

While Abeku died on the spot, his eight-year-old friend sustained severe injuries, and was taken to the regional hospital for treatment.

The Eastern regional Police PRO, ASP Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, said investigations had been initiated to determine what caused the accident, the report said.
