The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has arrested three people at the Ascension Senior High School in the Ashanti Region for examination malpractice and exam paper leakage.
An English literature teacher and a candidate from the school were arrested on Thursday for trying to sneak materials containing solved questions to other candidates, myjoyonline.com reported on Friday.
The teacher, a female, is said to have given the candidate the solved answers to be given to the students inside the exams hall.
According to the report, the headmaster of the school, Ekow Quashie, was also caught with questions of some yet-to-be-written papers on his mobile phone.
The report said the WAEC police in Ashanti region was going after the syndicate which provided exam papers to the school.
Three West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) papers – Oral English, Integrated Science and Social Studies papers – have so far leaked.
Some students in the Greater Accra and the Eastern regions had access to the examination papers between 12 midnight and 4 am on the day the papers were written, according to a report by the Daily Graphic.

The papers were circulated among the students mainly through social media platforms, particularly Whatsapp, the report said.
