Ursula Owusu elected NPP Ablekuma West candidate

The NPP Ablekuma West primary which delayed for months happened on Saturday, April 9, 2016 with the about 1,200 delegates electing incumbent MP,Ursula Owusu-Ekuful as the party's candidate for the 2016 parliamentary elections.

Counting of the ballot after voting closed at the Dansoman police station

Ursula polled 554 votes and his closest contender, Roni Kwesi Nicol  polled 317 votes. Total votes cast was 816, five votes were rejected. Meanwhile expected turnout was 1168.

The event which took place on the premises of the  Dansoman police hence heavy police presence ensuring massive law and order. Like any other election, the NPP’s Ablekuma West event could not pass without its own troubles.

Delegates where agitated at the beginning because the process delayed for over two hours before the polls began.
