William Addo, the veteran actor who needed a little over Gh₵ 5,000 to undergo eye surgery to remove cataract and glaucoma from the eyes has successfully undergone the surgery and is responding to treatment.
In an interview with YEN.com.gh after his surgery, the elated 60-year-old, William Addo noted that he is on medication and gradually responding to treatment. He used the opportunity to extend gratitude and prayed God’s blessings for all Ghanaians who extended a hand of support to help him undergo the surgery. William Addo had the successful surgery done on April 7.
William Addo thanked God for a successful surgery and was full of praise for the doctor and stuff of the inter-star eye clinic and laser center at Osu near the old American Embassy. He thanked pastor Brian Amoateng for footing the bill for the surgery, Kwame Sefa Kayi, Bola Ray and all who in diverse ways sent money. He also thanked Ghaanians for their prayers.
News of Mr. Addo going blind went viral after he granted an interview to an Accra-based radio. Mr. William Addo is a veteran actor known for his cunning and witty character. Many in Ghana remember him as “Akpaatse” meaning a fraudster.
