Agogo residents demonstrate again over Fulani crisis

Residents of Agogo in the Ashanti region on Tuesday morning embarked on a demonstration to drive home their age-long concern of the nomadic herdsmen (Fulani) in the area.

The demonstration which is reported to have been led by a queen-mother in the area; was well attended by a mammoth of people.

Residents and Traditional leaders of Agogo, in The Asante Akyem North Constituency Has Today taken to The Street to demonstrate over activities of nomadic Fulani herdsmen in the community.

Streets in Agogo were livened up by a thick stream of protesters clad in black and red clothes and holding anti-government and anti-normadic herdsmen placards.

This is at least the second reported demonstration by the residents in a conflict with herdsmen that has escalated this year.

Residents of Agogo embarked on the demonstration to pile pressure on government to drive out Fulanis in the area who have been accused of burning farms, murder and rape.
