President John Dramani Mahama says Ghana’s economy is resilient, despite the global economic downturn.
According to Mahama, countries like Saudi Arabia and Nigeria are facing reverse economic growth unlike Ghana which is experiencing robust growth with an expected growth rate at 4%.
Speaking during his accounting to the people tour in Eastern region on Tuesday, Mahama told the chiefs and people of the Akwamu traditional area that his government is responsible for the judicious economic management.

President Mahama who also made a stop at the Lower Manya Krobo area assured the people there he doesn’t doesn't take their support for granted and will give them a fair share of public cake.
He also made a whistle stop to interact with an ecstatic crowd at the Kpong market; he urged the people in the area to register in the upcoming limited voters’ registration by the EC.
