No true Muslim will support NPP - Eric Opoku

No true Muslin will support the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Brong Ahafo regional minister, Eric Opoku, has reportedly said.

According to Adomfmonline.com, Mr Opoku, is said to have claimed that Sura 105 verse 1-5 stipulated that Muslims should stay away from elephants and that any Muslim that with an elephant was not a real Muslim.

He said that meant that no real Muslim should support the NPP, which has an elephant as its emblem.

Mr Opoku, also the Member of Parliament for Asunafo South, was  reportedly addressing Chiefs, Imams and party executives in a meeting at Acherensua on Tuesday.

The Minister, the report said, criticised the NPP flagbearer's Muslim running mate, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, who he said ought to know better, for campaigning for people to join the party, instead of the telling them to leave.
