President John Dramani Mahama has had a breakfast meeting with Christian religious leaders in the Eastern Region as part of his workingtour of the region.
During the meeting, President Mahama briefed the Christian leaders on government's efforts at increasing police personnel and also assured them of the country's security preparedness.
The President told Christian leaders that by God's grace Ghana has reduced its high budget deficit of 12% to below 7.5% and still going down. "God has blessed us. We are the second biggest economy and leader in all the human development indices in West Africa," he added.
He thanked Christian leaders for their prayers which he said helped Ghana avoid an Ebola outbreak.
President Mahama asked them to continue praying for Ghana so that the country avoids terrorism as well.
