A caved in building at Esreso in Kumasi has claimed the lives of at least two people in the Ashanti regional.

According to classfmonline, the caved in building also caused one injured person to be admitted at the hospital. The website reports that the heavy rainfall in the area compelled the now-deceased and injured persons to seek shelter under an abandoned mud house, which previously served as the chief’s palace.
The building which had been marked for demolition two months ago, but the exercise not yet carried out collapsed on the victims as the rains intensified.
The collapse building killed a 40-year-old lotto vendor and a 12-year-old boy, whose father survived with injuries. A 34-year-old food vendor also sustained injuries and has been rushed to the hospital.
The bodies have since been conveyed to the Pramso morgue while police have begun investigations into the matter.
