Linda Thomas-Greenfield, assistant secretary for US department of State: Bureau of African Affairs is in Accra to attend the first U.S.-African Think Tank Dialogue roundtable programme.
The first U.S.-African Think Tank Dialogue roundtable programme is aimed at discussing governance and democracy issues.
It would also be attended by senior representatives of prominent African think tanks. While in Ghana, Linda is expected to visit a local USAID project for sanitation and wastewater.
After the dialogue programme, Linda will also be in London to attend the biannual P3 High Level Africa Security Meeting with UK and French partners. The meeting will focus on P3 support for African-led peacekeeping and efforts to support Nigeria and the other Lake Chad Basin countries in the fight against Boko Haram.
The high level Africa security meeting will also look at the P3 support for ongoing AU and UN efforts in Somalia and the Sahel. While in London, Linda will also meet with UK Minister for Africa James Duddridge on the margins of the P3 meeting.
Linda Thomas Greenfield arrived in Ghana on April 17 and would depart on April 22 to London.
