27-year-old Joanna Giannouli lives with an unusual condition related to her genes.
Joanna’s condition, called Rokitansky syndrome does not allow her lead a normal life and stigmatizes her from her peers. Joanna Giannouli was born without a womb, a cervix and an upper vagina.
In an interview with the BBC she admits that it has been difficult living with this condition more especially when her guy she was engaged to found out and broke off the engagement. Joanna also talks about how she found out about her condition at age 16 and has lived with it for over 10 years now.
Joanna Giannouli also reveals how doctors fixed an artificial vagina for her to use at a young age and how the first and second virgins caused her a lot of pain during intercourse.
Joanna in her interview disclosed that she is currently dating a gentleman who knows her condition and is okay with it and understands that they cannot have children in the near future. Joanna Giannouli would love to be a mother someday.
Joanna through the interview says she does not want people to feel pity for her but that she wants to be a source of encouragement for others in the same situation. Joanna who is based in Athens receives immense support from her parents and family members who understand her condition.
