US-based ITSI Bio Sciences has collaborated with Green Medical Center and SCON Security to provide Ghana with a rapid DNA analysis machine.
The arrival of the machine will cut down on the number of days one have to wait for the results of a DNA test in Ghana.
Prior to the 10 days of waiting for a DNA test, one has to wait for only 87 minutes to get the results for the test in Ghana.
The machine which is being hosted at the Green Medical Center will offer DNA analysis service in the area of health, human identification, law enforcement [criminal investigation] and agriculture.
Speaking at the outdooring of the machine, Robert Porter Jackson, the U.S Ambassador to Ghana, said the collaboration is part of efforts to pull US companies to invest in African economies.
The Ministry of Health believes the partnership will serve as major mile stone geared at changing the health paradigm.
