The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has admonished media houses not to allow politicians on their platforms until three months into the general elections.
He was speaking to the management of EIB network when they paid a courtesy call on him. According to him, politicians should only be given airtime on the various media platforms three months into an election.
The Otumfuo said in that regard, they would have just three months to do their politicking which he felt in some cases raised tension among the citizenry.
He was of the view that nine months in the tenure of an elected President must be dedicated purely to the development of the country while the last three months could be allotted for politics.
He challenged the media to ensure peace and development of the country with a clear conscience.
