Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister of Communications has asked social media users and political commentators not to rope in the wife of the late NPP stalwart, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey in their political discussions in an interview on Radio Gold.
There is a wide circulation on social media of a photo which shows a broad smiling Mrs Obetsebi Lamptey as she is consoled by President John Mahama whilst in another one; she is seen wailing and clutching her hands away from the NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo who tries to console her.
Comments being alluded to these photos by persons circulating them has it that Nana Akufo-Addo may have had problems with the late former NPP chairman which informed the reaction from Mrs Obetsebi Lamptey.
Dr Omane Boamah said such images and comments were unsavoury which should not be encouraged, especially when the family members of the late NPP stalwart are mourning and needs their privacy.
The final funeral rites of the late Jake Obetsebi Lamptey took place on Friday at the forecourt of the State House and was attended by President John Mahama, former President John Rawlings and his wife, government officials, the NPP flagbearer and running mate, Nana Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia respectively, and some leading members of the NPP.
