A taxi driver, whose name is being withheld, knocked down two suspected robbers who snatched a 45-year-old woman's handbag and attempted to escape with it on a motorbike.

The two robbers, Mumuni Abubakari and Albert Laryea currently in the grips of the 37 Police Station, allegedly snatched a hand bag of the woman on Monday around the DVLA office at 37 in Accra around 7:20am.

The police who confirmed this to Onua FM said the taxi driver who chanced upon the incident, quickly drove at a high speed towards the two robbers who attempted to flee on an unregistered motorbike and knocked them down.
This is about the third time a taxi driver has foiled attempted armed robbery cases involving motorbikes in Gt Accra.

On January 9, three suspected robbers who shot and attempted to rob a worker of the Koala Shopping Mall were knocked down by a taxi driver whilst another taxi driver knocked down two robbers around Tema Community One in February.
