Two of Ghana’s female icons, Nana Aba Anamoah and lawyer Sandra Ankobea were on Thursday unveiled by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as ambassadors for women’s football in Ghana.

The event which took place at the Kempinski hotel in Accra saw other celebrities grace the occasion as well.
Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, sports minister said he was convinced the two personalities will be able to raise funds as ambassadors to propel and project women football in the country.
According to the minister, the women will get 20% of every amount they raise. “We have not set a target for the ladies; in fact we need more money because the more they bring in the more they get,” Nii Lantey stressed.

On their part, Nana Aba and Sandra said they were delighted in being endorsed.
The minister finally told the gathering that his doors are open to anyone who was interested in raising funds for the ministry.
Women’s football in Ghana has seen a decline for the past years.
