A member of R2bees, Paedae, aka Omar Sterling, has berated popular celebrity blogger, Ameyaw Debrah, for publishing an article which suggested that the musician would not marry his girlfriend, Sandra Ankobiah, if she did not convert to Islam.
Ameyaw posted on his blog on Thursday that one of the numerous Facebook pages claiming to be for Paedae took time to answer questions from fans.
He said among the questions posed by fans was whether the rapper intended to marry lawyer and TV host, Sandra Ankobiah.
He said the Paedae impostor responded that he would marry Sandra the very day she converted to Islam.
The report did not go down well with the rapper, who denied having a Facebook page.
On Twitter, Paedae questioned why Ameyaw did not check with him before publishing the story.
Responding, Ameyaw said he made it clear in the story that the Facebook page in question did not belong to the musician.
Paedea’s R2Bees has won multiple awards. The group often sings and raps in native language Twi and Pidgin.
They are one of the top purveyors of Ghanaian hip pop subgenre hiplife, which mixes rap with sounds of hilife (African pop music) and reggae.
In 2012, R2Bees were featured in Forbes' list of Top 13 African Celebrities to watch in 2013. They were also nominated for a BET award in 2013.
