The Ministry of Health as part of efforts to prevent and reduce the spread of the annual cholera outbreak has shared on its Facebook page what to do and know about the disease.
Cholera is a diarrhoeal disease caused by a germ. The germ is found mostly in faeces and it spreads when a person drinks water or eats food that is contaminated with the cholera germ.

Cholera is transmitted from faecal matter to the mouth through the ingestion of contaminated fingers/hands flies, water and food.
One of the commonest ways of preventing and avoiding the spread of the cholera disease is by washing of the hands with soap under safe running water.
