Samsung has created a personal assistant robot named Otto with a built-in-camera aimed at watching over ones home and sending pictures, videos and traffic updates if need be.
The HD camera can stream live video to your mobile phone, tablet or computer, which essentially means Otto can also double as a home security device. Amazingly, the camera can also recognize faces and control various connected gadgets around the home - for example, light switches or the fridge. Also when it's raining outside, Otto will display raindrops on the front screen as well as various other animations depending on the app being used at the time. At Samsung's keynote speech, Curtis Sasaki, Vice President of Ecosystems and IoT General Manager, announced the arrival of Otto in conjunction with its new ARTIK Internet of Things platform.
Meanwhile questions remain as to whether the technology can survive Ghana's security needs as most Ghanaians are less likely to purchase such a device.
