Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the minister for sports, says nothing will stop him in his quest to root out corruption and the suspected cabal strangling growth at his ministry.

“If I have to do certain things which will even necessitate that I sacrifice my brother to make Ghana sports better, I will do it, ” he told Accra-based Joy FM.

The Ministry of Sports is considered the most difficult ministry to run, with six ministers failing to succeed there in the last six years.

Many ministers who tried to effect change at the ministry we reportedly dealt with by a powerful cabal there, leading to their removal or dismissal.

But Nii Lante Vanderpuye says he is determined to stop that trend, according to a report by adomfmonline.com.

He said nothing would stop him from rooting out corruption and the perceived cabal at his ministry.

He said about 80 percent of the people who were allegedly leading the cabal at the ministry had been transferred to other regions.

“I count myself blessed because most of the people who have perpetrated some of the heinous crimes against our sports are no more there,” he said.
