'Strange' explosion at Bolgatanga leave residents in fear

Residents of Bolgatanga in the Upper East regional capital are living in fear and insecurity after a strange explosion is reported to have been heard at the official residence of the Upper East Regional Minister.

The loud bang which is been alleged as a bomb explosion could be heard and felt in many areas several miles away from the community, sparking a far-reaching wave of terror as mushroom-shaped clouds of black soil mixed with fireballs went sky-high, hanging in the air for several minutes before they slowly disappearing.

The loud bang shattered the louver blades of some residents

So far, police and officials of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) have moved to the scene to restore calm and intensify investigation as the level of damage still remains unknown with officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) yet to appear at scene for assessment.
