Three Burkinabes arrested over voter registration

Three Burkinabes have been arrested by the Tafo Police in the Ashanti Region after they attempted to register during Ghana’s ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

The alertness of polling agents uncovered the Burkinabes, a report by classfmonline said on Thursday.

The Burkinabes were suspected to be foreigners when they could not communicate in English, Hausa or Twi. Upon further interrogation they admitted to being Burkinabes, the report said.

They were 10 in number, but seven, including one woman, took to their heels, the report added.
