The Member of Parliament for Okere in the Eastern region, Dan Botwe, was on Friday dawn robbed at gunpoint at his Tema residence in the Greater Accra region.
Mr Botwe was reportedly held hostage for about 45 minutes by the robbers, a report by starrfmonline.com said on Friday.
Laptops, mobile phones and an undisclosed amount of money were said to have been stolen by the robbers.
The security man at his house has reportedly been arrested by the police as part of investigations into the crime.
Dan Botwe is a former general secretary of the NPP.
