The limited voter registration exercise organized by the Electoral Commission has ended Sunday, May 8.
The 11-day exercise by the EC gave people who have turned 18 years to register to enable them exercise their voting rights during the November polls.
The registration exercise has been characterized by all sorts of incidents; from low turnout to violence in some centres across the country.
The biggest challenge of this voters registration exercise, however remains to be whether the commission was able to register all eligible first time voters across the country.

For example on the various university campuses the officials of the Electoral Commission were overwhelmed by the huge numbers that came to register.
The student leaders have expressed worry the EC will not be able to register all the eligible students before the deadline date and have asked for an extension of the closing date.
One thing that remains is whether the commission will extend the closing date for the registration exercise as it is obvious a lot of people are yet to register.
