The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command has issued a 10-day ultimatum to the police constable who was guarding Kwaku Yeboah, a 21-year old suspected armed robber under his 24-hour guard at the Sunyani Regional Hospital to re-arrest him immediately.
According to the police, Yeboah managed to escape on Thursday, May 5 under circumstances yet to be unraveled.
The command has thus given the police constable, (name withheld) who was guarding the suspect a 10-day ultimatum to find the suspected robber or face the full rigours of the rules and regulations of the Ghana Police Service.
Yeboah and an accomplice, now at large, robbed Madam Kate Sam Wilson a trader at gunpoint at Ohene Djan-Abesim, near Sunyani on May 2, 2016 of her handbag containing GH2,500 and other items around 7:30pm but their attack was foiled by an 18-year old boy (name withheld), who had responded to the shouts of the victim and laid ambush.

He attacked the gun wielding Yeboah whilst the other robber escaped on a motorbike. In the ensuing struggle, Yeboah who had been subdued by a mob was nearly lynched but a timely intervention of the police saved him and sent him to the hospital.
It was while at the hospital that Yeboah managed to outwit the police constable guarding him on Thursday, May 5.
