Unpaid teachers suspend decision to picket at Finance Ministry

All three thousand teachers who registered their resolve to picket at the Finance Ministry today [Wednesday], over unpaid salaries have suspended their action.

According to them, their decision  follows a Police order, directing them to reschedule their exercise because of  the ban on drumming and  noise making in parts of the Greater Accra Region.

The teachers who belonged to a group calling itself  Unpaid teachers had planned  to embark on the action today,  to compel the Finance  Ministry  to release to them, their over three years’ salary arrears which have been okayed by the Audit  service to be paid. Meanwhile President of the Group, Eric Darko Effa says that even though they have put their plans on hold, they will hold a meeting with government today, which will inform their next line of action. -
