Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the flag bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has lambasted the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) over their ‘selective’ attitude towards the proposed presidential debate.
The IEA had proposed the debate in order to afford political parties with the opportunity to sell themselves to voters to make an informed decision at the 2016 November polls.
However, the IEA intends that only parties with representation in Parliament would be afforded the platform.
Dr Nduom told a gathering at the Accra Polytechnic, that the IEA’s decision was in contravention to laid down political party laws which frown on all form of discriminatory treatment of presidential candidates.
Meanwhile, Kofi Adams, the National Organizer of the NDC also slammed the Institution’s decision saying, the non-involvement of the political parties in the planning of the debate was uncalled for and that the think-tank should not expect to hold a successful program when it has not engaged them.
