The government has renovated the girls’ dormitory of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS) in the New Juabeng Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region after it was destroyed by fire in March.

The renovation was carried out after some weeks of audit, with a deputy education minister handing over the newly-refurbished dormitory to the school on Wednesday.

Eight rooms of the girls' dormitory for the first year students caught fire at a time that the students were at prep, destroying almost everything, a report by TV3 network said.

It left 600 students homeless, compelling the school to send first and second year students on early vacation while efforts were made to repair the damage.
