Today marriages are obviously under attack. People get divorced and even in churches the break up rate is high. God has the Word for you and through these amazing Bible promises for marriage you can gain hope, restoration and happiness in your family.
Even though this first promise was specifically given to a man, it also is applicable to us. We hear it more times in the Bible. We also find it in two more passages from the book of Acts 10:6 and 16:31. And in the Old Testament God has given a similar promise to Rahab (Joshua 2). It was relevant for those people, it can come true for you, if you only grab hold of it with your faith!
“He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.” (Acts 11:14)
Even though this Scripture does not directly talk of marriage, it is a great promise. Jesus is the wall breaker between people. Call upon His name to do what you cannot do on your own!
“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.” (Ephesians 2:14)
You surely know this one from the Ephesians 5!
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” And “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her”
The key thought here is this: it is not a job of a husband to MAKE his wife submit to him. And it is not a job of a wife to MAKE her husband love her. If each does their part, the marriage remains happy and steady.
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.” (1 Corinthians 11:7)
The wife is the glory of a man. So, this means he should take good care of her! Do not boast and brag with your words. Once people look at your wife, they really know how good you are. If she is well tended and happy, you have the glory!
This promise is the best of all! If God is in the middle of your marriage, it won’t break down!
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
Hold on to these Bible promises for marriage and not only read or believe them, but also do them to attain happiness in your family!
