Soldiers who assaulted boy found guilty

The two soldiers who assault a 16 year old boy for allegedly stealing a mobile phone have been found guilty after investigations by the Ghana Armed Forces.

According to the chief of defence staff, Air Vice Marshal Oje Sampson the two culprits will however not be dismissed.

He revealed in an interview with Joy FM Friday that the two soldiers will have their ranks reduced.

Christopher Bama was beaten mercilessly by two soldiers for allegedly stealing a mobile phone belonging to one of the soldiers. The young man was beaten till he went unconscious.

The Ghana Armed Forces came under public criticism when it emerged that it tortured a teenager for at least five hours.
