Waste management company, Zoomlion on Saturday organised a clean up exercise to clean Kasoa and its environs in the Central of Ghana.
The exercise saw hundreds of staff of the company sweep public places, pick plastic rubbers, de-silt drains, fumigate water bodies among others.
Addressing the media after the clean up exercise Central regional head of business development of Zoomlion, Ernest Osei said: “the company is keen on ensuring that the younger ones are well educated on good sanitary practices hence the formation of “Zoomkidz” clubs in the various basic schools to make them good ambassadors who will ensure that our communities are kept clean.”
He also hinted that the assembly is making all efforts to ensure that bye-laws are enforced to punish those who engage in bad sanitary activities and urged the public to do the right thing.
Osei however, lamented on the apathy demonstrated by the public towards the National Sanitation Day, adding that keeping our environment clean is a shared responsibility hence every citizen should be involved on the day.
