A lecturer at the School of Medical Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has revealed that brain drain among doctors trained in Ghana has reduced drastically by 95%.

Brain drain among medical doctors in Ghana has drastically reduced by about 95%

According to the Professor Baffour Opoku, the latest development is as a result of the introduction of the Ghana college post graduate studies, which allows graduate doctors the opportunity of further studies in the country.

He also added that the reduction in brain drain among medical doctors could also mean that doctors are being catered for well by the state as compared to the past.

Brain drain in the health sector has been a major cause for worry for successive governments in Ghana.
