Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the wife of the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, says that the country would collapse should President John Mahama be granted another term.
Speaking at the Amanfro Central Pentecost church in the Central Region, Mrs Akufo-Addo said the government could not be trusted with any state funds.
Mrs Akufo-Addo said under the administration of former president John Agyekum Kufuor the country did not have oil but life was good for Ghanaians.
She said although the Mahama administration had the luxury oil money, life had become extremely difficult for Ghanaians.
She questioned where Ghana’s oil money was and what it was being used for.
The NPP leader's wife said it was clear from the profligate expenditure of government appointees and members of the NDC that they had tampered with the oil funds.
“Things are so bad that if we are not careful Ghana will collapse,” she said.
Mrs Akuffo-Addo said that the only way to save Ghana from impending doom was to vote for her husband in the November elections.
