The Accra regional police commander, COP George Akuffo Dampare, has been transferred to head the police command and staff college at Winneba in the Central Region.
Dampare, who spent six months as the head of the Accra command, had earlier served as director-general of finance for the service, according to a report by Accra-based Citi FM.
While in Accra, he was credited for his lead role in the swift arrest of the alleged killer of former Abuakwa North MP, JB Danquah.
Dampare also led top police officers from the region to visit the offices of some political parties in order to foster unity and friendship between the Police and political parties, according to the report.
It is not immediately who his replacement will be.
