Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, says the presidential debates organised by the Institute of Economic Affairs are unconstitutional.
He described the decision of the Institute to offer the debate platform to only parties with representation in Parliament and the planning process as discriminatory and therefore called on them to reverse the decision.
He was addressing the West Africa Security Services Association (WASSA) organized by the Northern Regional Police Command in Tamale on Friday.
He said such stance prevented the parties from presenting their ideologies to the populace which were contrary to the constitutional demands of giving fair opportunities to all.
The minister indicated that irrespective of the size of any political party in the country, it behoved on the think tank to give the chance to all to share its ideology to the public for them to make informed decisions.
